What is a Splash Page?

What is a Splash Page?

Splash Pages or Splash Screens…..

Here is goes again. Another confusing term though this time it is two terms which mean about the same thing. Splash pages and splash screens are  used to describe an introduction page on a website. That’s it!!  Not so hard is it?  Splash screen do the same thing but sometimes they won’t cover the entire screen or page. They often  have animations, graphics and sound. It is more common to hear them called pop-up’s since this is what they do. You will be reading the page and bam! out of nowhere comes this guys face or voice making you some amazing offer. Studies indicate the opt-in rates are high but I think they are very annoying.

Here is a Splash Page Example

Click the Talk Fusion Image Above

Gamers use splash screens in a different way but for internet marketing a splash screen or splash page is just an introductory page of a web site. Once you get a easy explanation the terms are simple to understand.

Why do you need Splash pages and Splash screens?

  • anything that has an age limit like pornography, alcohol sales, or gambling needs a warning
  • to direct users to the correct  website for their country or language
  • to direct users to a low-bandwidth site or a special set up for disabled users
  • to get you to take action – this works very well with splash screens
  • to catch your interest, sell the site before you get to it

Even though they work very well I do not like splash screens. Web splash screens are very irritating for users with slow internet connection. It slows everything down since the first page may take longer to load or if the user has turned off   Flash or Shockwave images the splash page may not load at all. If they are  Flash form they often cannot be accessed by search engines or handled by text readers for the blind. I don’t like them because they simple bug me.  And after all, it is all about me isn’t it? ;)

Not so hard is it once you see a splash page example? Splash pages and splash screens are  nothing more than an introduction page on a website. None of online marketing is really very hard once you get some easy, effective and affordable direction.

What is an Opt In box?

What is an Opt In Box for an Autoresponder?

Opt in boxes, opt in pages and autoresponders

When I first got into Internet Marketing I was totally overwhelmed by learning a new language. So many terms that I couldn’t place with a visual. My goal as a team leader is to make everything easy, effective and affordable so go ahead and read this I think it will help.

An autoresponders is an email system that will automatically mail out information to people who sign up. The information can range from an e-newsletter, special offers, weekly tips, news updates.  Whatever it is will depend on your business.

An Opt in box is where people will put their information which will go into the autoresponder. If you use TrafficWave auto-responder ( I do, all my team does TrafficWave is the best )  you will find many pre-made opt in boxes which are really easy to collect whatever information and facts you wish. It’s going to then produce some html code for you to input into your web-site. This might sound tough if your really new but I figured it out and so can you.

This is an example of what TrafficWave auto-responder‘s html code for the Opt in box looks like. The html code might seem like a mess but don’t let it freeze you up. All you do is copy it and paste it in your web site or blog. As long as you make sure to copy every last bit of it there will be no trouble at all. And really, think about it. What if you did mess it up?  Delete it and start over. Trafficwave makes it very easy with lots of  free tutorials, forum and a responsive help desk.  >>If your on my team you get me too ! :) <<

<!– END TrafficWave.net AR Capture Form – BUILD 100609–>

When you have placed the html code into the appropriate place in your web-site, like magic the opt-in box will appear. Direct people to your site to fill in the box and start getting your scheduled emails.

Autoresponder – Can’t Work without Them

Autoresponder: Can’t Work Without Them

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An autoresponder is a computer program that automatically answers e-mail sent to it. They can be very simple or quite complex.

The first autoresponders were created within mail transfer agents that found they could not deliver an e-mail to a given address. These create bounce messages such as “your e-mail could not be delivered because…” type responses. Today’s autoresponders need to be careful to not generate e-mail backscatter, which can result in the autoresponses being considered E-mail spam.

Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals.

Such follow-up autoresponders can be divided into two categories:

  • Outsourced ASP model — these autoresponders operate on the provider’s infrastructure and are usually configurable via a web-based control panel. The customer pays a monthly usage fee. This is easiest to implement for the end-user.
  • Server-side — enables users to install the autoresponder system on their own server. This requires technical skills.

Autoresponders are also incorporated into electronic mailing list software, to confirm subscriptions, unsubscriptions, posts, and other list activities.

Are You a MLM Friend or MLM Leader?

Are You a MLM Friend or MLM Leader?

Network Marketing, like all selling, is a people business. Few will buy from a nasty salesman and even fewer will join the MLM team of a selfish, negative leader. But do you need to be a MLM friend to be a MLM Leader? What is an MLM: a Team or a Family?

I like to think I am a friendly leader to my team. The family Matriarch if you will. It is important to me I am approachable and seen as a human being much like my team mates. This gives them the belief they can succeed in mlms too. After all, if my team isn’t succeeding how can I claim to be a successful entrepreneur? I also believe it is my responsibility to be direct and objective so I can help them over come or see the obstacles. Having a distance allows this to be a normal and positive part of our relationship.

Based on this understanding I have come to understand the concept of culling the MLM herd. I want both me and my dowline to have mlm success. If I have two people in my downline wanting my attention I will spend time with the one who is in the solution not the problem. I am not a therapist so I am not interested in hearing your personal problems or why you can’t follow through on your network marketing commitments. This is to me the difference between a friend and a friendly leader. My girlfriends get the shoulder to cry on and the team mates get the hand to pull them to their full potential. Are You a MLM Friend or MLM Leader? I think a loving leader is the way for everybody to have success with their MLM.

Networker: How to Make Money OnLine without Breaking Your Back

Hi Networker or anybody who sits in front of a computer all day. My favorite saying is: You can’t be wealthy unless your healthy. This video message was inspired by my chiropractor.

How to Work at Home with a Family.

Like most Networkers I work from home. And like most people I share this home with my family which includes 3 kids under the age of 10.

The kids, husband, dog… have little or no concept of “Mom’s Working” and I’m often interrupted. Even when they aren’t in my room they are distracting. (One time the dog sat in front of my door and howled in the middle of my video.)

After many fights and lots of frustration I realized I needed to change the way I thought. So I decided the family would be treated just like any other daily task and from 3:25pm to 7pm they get me. I don’t try to listen to webinars in the kitchen or let them “hang out” in my room.

It actually works too. We touch in on our days and then they are all good with ignoring me. Like most things in life, I just needed to move from the problem to the solution. Works every time
